AAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!

To quote Charlie Brown.
You can't imagine how much time I just spent making that last post look just right, and when I post it, it goes all kerflooey!!!!! THAT IS SO AGGRAVATING!!!!!!!!!

Wow!

So much has been going on!!

FH was supposed to have a field trip to the pumpkin patch this week, but it got rained out. So we ended up going to the Strasburg Train Museum instead. Really, the highlight for FH (and for all the kids!) was riding the school bus. The poor kid asks me almost every day if it is his turn to ride the school bus. And every day I tell him that when he goes to kindergarten in September he'll ride the bus with Zoe and all the neighbors. But when you have no sense of time, that doesn' t really help!
We all had a great time despite the change in plans, I got some cute pics of my sweet boy.

Here he is getting off the bus.

The foyer of the museum.

Pardon the red eyes...haven't gotten to that yet!

Not surprisingly, we had to go back to the "coal" shoveling display twice!

He's great to have around in a snow storm! :)

Today the kids and I had a ball getting our pumpkins ready for trick-or-treating. We all had a great time! I only have a few minutes because I have to get dinner ready early today. Our township only allows trick-or-treating from 6-8pm, and I love it! But that means we need to be done dinner early enough to get into costumes and get pictures taken. So enjoy the pictures! More tomorrow!

They were so into their pumpkins that they wouldn't even look up long enough for me to take a picture!

She's my little artist.

He was concentrating SOOOOO hard!

FH says he was smiling like a dog in this picture...whatever that means!

The finished product!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

I'm done! I'm done! I'm done!

For the last eleven years I've been working on this cross stitch and I have just now finished it! (I'm embarrassed to admit that!) Yippeeeeee!!!! I'm so happy this is done! It's very unlike me to leave a project undone for so long, but now it's off my plate! Yay for me!

And I also made 2 of these today....

It's a headband, Dad. I'm pretty sure you have NO IDEA what it is! :)
It's been a great day for me!

Loads of pics!

Get comfortable...you're going to be here a while!

Here is Zoe, wearing her bronze medal. How did she get this medal, you may ask? Allow me to tell you...it's quite the "proud mommy" moment for me!
In first grade the kids started a "100 Book Challenge" for which they are encouraged to read 100 books over the course of the school year. For each 60 books that they read, they are allowed to pick a prize. When they reach 100, they get a bronze medal. At 200 they get a silver medal, and at 300 they get a gold medal. This challenge only started a month ago, and Zoe has already received her bronze medal!!!! I am SO PROUD of her!!!! She's completely self-motivated, too. I think the medal was what got her! She's goin' for gold!!! :) That's my girl..........

Here we are at the park the other day, just enjoying the Indian Summer weather. The kids had a ball, as usual. And they slept REALLY well that night!

Here's Zoe, digging in the sand.

Love this girl.

Peek-a-boo!

Running the bases.

The other day FH and I spent some time making pumpkin muffins. Shame on me, I don't really cook with my kids that often. Maybe it's the potential for mess that gets me, though it shouldn't. Anyway, we had an absolute ball together!

Here we are.

Here is the fruit of our labor.

Last Friday the fire department came to FH's preschool to discuss Fire Prevention. If you know FH, you know how excited he was! He started asking me at 6:00pm the day before if it was time to go see the fire trucks! Among other things, he got to spray the hose and try on every piece of equipment they had! Well, almost everything. Afterward, while we were driving home, he told me that he was very upset because he didn't get to try the "glubs" on! I was trying so hard not to let him see me cracking up!! :) So here you go.

Listening to "Firefighter Kim" tell a story.

Sitting in the fire truck.

Spraying the hose.

Trying to get INTO the boots!

There they are!

No explanation necessary!

I think the oxygen tank is heavier than he is!!!

Firefighter Kim helped him get into the jacket.

Don't forget the mask!

He was one HAPPY boy!

Just a cute shot of my boys playing together.

We love this dog!

Zoe's class earned a reward through good behavior, and they chose to have a pajama party. It was the one time that they were allowed to bring stuffed animals to school, and don't you know, we forgot Zoe's. She was so sad, but her WONDERFUL teacher let her borrow her own bear. Zoe was so sad when she had to give it back, that Miss Higgins let her bring the bear home. She asked that I take a picture of her and "Beary" and I think it's just precious.

The full moon was SO amazing last night, I just had to take a picture. Unfortunately I don't know squat about photography. I've done a little bit of reading and tried playing with the different settings, but my pictures NEVER turn out the way they say they should. This one's not too bad. Hope you saw that moon!!!

I know this was a lot at one time, and I promise I'll try to be better about posting more often!
Enjoy!!!

Orange Belts!

Zoe and I, that is! Last Monday evening we tested for, and received our Orange Belts in Tae Kwon Do. It was so exciting, and so much fun for both of us. Zoe really does such a great job! I am so proud of her!!
The pictures are a tad bit fuzzy...the lighting in the dojo seems to make it very difficult to get good pictures. But you get the idea.

I love Tae Kwon Do, and I love doing it with my children. It's a great thing for us to do together, and I think the kids love it as much as I do!
Enjoy!

I'm thinking of you and so grateful for the time we get to spend together! You are an amazing woman who I admire and I will cherish our friendship forever! Hope your day is super special!

Where has the time gone?!

Has it really been 3 weeks since I've posted?!?! Wow! The
time gets away from me more every day. Of course, the Twilight Series of books hasn't helped that situation at all. If you haven't read it, stop whatever you are doing and go get it immediately. I'm not into the whole vampire thing, but please take my word for it and read the series. It's well worth it!! (That's pretty much just for the ladies. I'm not sure the guys would appreciate the love story!) I've been completely consumed with finishing those books. There are 4 in the series, and each one is better than the last. It was FABULOUS!!!!Frank and I have also been going to all the home PSU games, enjoying every minute of it! We took the kids to the first 3, and last weekend we went with friends of ours. It was a night game which didn't start until 8:00. So, needless to say, it was very early the next morning when we got home, and Sunday was a very brain-dead day for us! As Frank likes to say, we had "the dumbs" all day!

And this weekend is my annual girls weekend in NYC with Dodi and Mel!! CAN'T WAIT!!!! I'll be staying at Dodi's tonight, but we'll head the whole half mile to Mel's house for a bonfire with her neighbors to start the weekend off right. Tomorrow morning we'll head to Mom and Danna's place to get ready for our adventure into NYC. It's really great knowing that we have a comfy place to stay, and that we'll always have a way home should the night get really crazy! ;) Seriously, Mom and Danna know the city really well, so it's like having our own personal tour guides!

On our way into the city last year.......

The beginning of the day........

The end of the day.......

It had been a loooooong day!! :)

Check out the link to Dodi's blog for a full description of our favorite hot spot, McSorley's. I have no doubt that we'll be spending an obscene amount of time there tomorrow evening...should have lots of good pictures as proof! Or evidence, or blackmail, or whatever you want to call it.
I know this post is short, but I still have to get to the grocery store, vac the house and pack my car and hopefully give the dog a bath before I leave. (Among the million other little things that have to happen!)
Hope you have a wonderful weekend...should be beautiful fall weather, just perfect for spending LOTS of time outside!
